Colours
Owners and Trainers are advised that to comply with Local Rule
29, all racing colours used on horses permanently trained in
Queensland MUST be registered with Racing Queensland.
The following colour registration fees are applicable:
Stewards conduct spot checks at race meetings to ensure
compliance with this Rule.
Failure to register colours as required by the Rules could result
in a monetary penalty being imposed in future.

Designs and Regulations:
All horses that reside in Queensland are required to display
colours which are registered with Racing Queensland.
All designs \ patterns are subject to approval by Racing
Queensland.
The use of numerals, initials, letters, words, offensive motifs
and the use of commercial property (registered logos, trademarks)
are not permitted.
In general, all colours must be capable of being distinguished
by judges and stewards during a race and, therefore, symbols,
motifs, pictures, stencils, caricatures and similar images that do
not satisfy this requirement will not be approved.
Colours disallowed in Queensland but subsequently registered in
another state for a Queensland trained and raced horse will not be
permitted to be used in Queensland
Registered brands, personal or business logos may be considered
on an individual basis.
Colours must be identical when viewed from back and front.
Racing colours may be registered by up to six nominators each of
whom shall have equal rights to the use of the racing colours
provided that they all have unequivocal agreement to these
rights.
The following dimensions shall be used as a guide:
Hoops, Stripes, V's and braces must not be less than 75mm
wide.
Multiple spots, stars, diamonds, checks, crossed or single
sashes and armbands must not be less than 100mm.
Bands & single stripe must not be less than 125mm.
Single diamond, star, spot, horseshoe, lightning bolt must be no
less than 280mm depth x 230mm width.
Single Maltese cross, shamrock, cross or Lorraine should be not
less than 280mm x 280mm
Other approved motifs \ shapes should use the above sizes as a
guide.
